Mark 4:3  “…A Farmer went out to plant some seed.”

One of the projects the LORD asked the Harvest Relief team do while in Haiti ~ was to plant some seeds.  And with that God spoke a word to our hearts.

Before we can begin to reap, or even expect a harvest…first a seed must be planted.

Planting a seed can be used to describe many things, conception of a child, birth of a nation, a seed of faith.  Without the seed, nothing grows.  But, if that seed is to grow, it first must be planted.  And for it to grow…it must be watered and cared for.

But the LORD didn’t just have us planting seeds in the ground…He had us casting “seeds of faith” wherever we went.  That seed also must be watered, cared for and nurtured too if it is to grow to full maturity.  I wonder who the LORD has called to come behind us…and to continue the work.

Matthew 9:37-38  “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Father, seeds of faith are being planted, watered….and the harvest is ready.  Would you continue to raise  pastors to continue the work.  Would you also stir the hearts of Your people to go to Haiti to be apart of the harvest.  As your Word says, “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Press this Word into the hearts of Your people, stir them and give them a vision for Haiti and increase their faith as they step out in obedience to Your call.   And don’t stop there, we want a bumper crop…send “farmers” to plant more seeds and bring the water too.
In Jesus name, amen.
