God bless you! My name’s Pastor Brian McDaniel from the Haiti Bible Training Center and I just want to take a couple minutes here to really encourage you. We’ve been talking about spiritual warfare and what that looks like. There’s a passage of scripture here in Daniel, Chapter 7 that really gives us an insight into what’s going on. Daniel has this vision of a stormy sea. He sees these four beasts coming up out of the sea.
He says, “After this, I saw in the night vision and behold a fourth beast dreadfully and terribly exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth and was devouring and breaking in pieces and trampling the residue with its feet. I was considering this and there was a little horn, a little horn that came up from among them. It had eyes of a man and a mouth speaking pompous words.” So the first thing he sees is this beast.
He focuses in on the last one. He says, man, I wish to know the meaning of this fourth beast. And it had these horns and one of these horns pops up out of this beast. And it says that it had eyes like a man and a mouth speaking pompous words. Well, this horn is a picture of the Antichrist.
So the first thing he sees is this Antichrist. And it says that it had a fourth beast, dreadfully and terribly, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth and was devouring and breaking in pieces and trampling the residue under its feet. It was almost like one of those cartoon characters, those gladiator things that we see going through and just smashing and devouring everything.
Isn’t that what Jesus said about satan in John Chapter 8, that he comes to seek to kill and destroy? But Jesus said, “I’ve come to give you life and life more abundantly.”
So the first thing we see is the Antichrist. Then, the second thing he says he sees in the vision, is a throne that was put in place in the ancient of days. He was seated. His garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels burning, its fiery stream issued, and it came forth before him. And thousands of thousands ministered to him ten thousand times.
Ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated and the books were open.
So the second thing we see in this vision is the ancient of days.
Oh, I love this. Thrones were put in place and the ancient of days was seated. His garment was white as snow and the hair of his head was pure wool.
Listen. This is a picture of the Father on the throne. When you say our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, your kingdom come, your will be done. This is where you go. This is what it looks like. This is the Father on the throne. This throne room is the command center of the universe. He says, “I am the Lord, thy God, and I do whatever I want.” And so I love this. When you come boldly to the throne room of grace to obtain mercy and help in your time of need this is where you’re going. You’re going to the ancient of days. Our Father who’s on the throne.
So the third thing that he sees in this vision, he says, “I was watching in the night vision. And behold one like the son of man coming with clouds in heaven. He came to the ancient of days. They brought him near before him. And then to him was given dominion in glory and kingdom that all the peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away in his kingdom. The one which shall not be destroyed.” So this is the third thing he sees.
The first thing he sees is the Antichrist. The next thing he sees is the ancient of days, the Father on the throne. And then the third thing he sees is the son of man, one like the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven. He came to the ancient of days. They brought him near before him, and then to him was given dominion, glory and a kingdom that all will never pass away.
Listen. The third thing he sees in his vision is Jesus Christ, the son of man, the son of God. And it says he they brought Jesus to the ancient of days. It looks like this is where they brought him near the angels, brought him to the ancient of days, and when they brought him near him was given dominion and glory and the kingdom that all the peoples, nations, languages should serve him. Everything was given to the Son.
Is that amazing? The Son? Jesus Christ. You know what it says in Ephesians? That you are joint heirs with Christ. Everything was given to Christ and you’re a joint heir with Christ.
It says in this you’ve obtained an inheritance being predestined according to the purpose of him, who works all things according to the counsel of his will. Amazing. So what I really want to focus in on is in verse 19, Daniel, chapter 7, verse 19 through 21. Let’s take a look at this. It says, “I was watching. And the horn was making war against the saints and prevailing against them until the ancient of days came and judgment was made in favor of the saints of the most high, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.”
The last thing he sees is this horn, the antichrist, making war against the Saints, making war against you and I. But it says this horn was making war against the saints and prevailing against them. Have you ever thought that sometimes you’re just losing? That the enemy is winning? It looks so bad that you’re not winning. Let me encourage you. You never lose with Jesus Christ. Listen. Here’s what it says. This horn was making war against the saints and prevailing against them. Winning. Until the ancient of days came and judgment was made in favor of the saints of the most high God. And he gave them the kingdom.
Listen. It’s like being in a football game. The Super Bowl. Let’s imagine we were in the Super Bowl and we were losing 60 to zip. And it’s the last quarter. There’s no way we can win. OK. It says the horn was making war against the saints and prevailing against them. No way we can win. And then all of a sudden the referee comes in and declares us to be the winner and gives us the kingdom. That’s how it works. It doesn’t matter what it looks like. If God is for you, who can be against you?
Listen, the ancient of days came. So what’s the solution? What’s the application? Men ought to always pray and not lose heart. Listen, you can come boldly to the throne room of grace to obtain mercy and help in your time of need. Call on me in your day of trouble. And he says “I will answer you and show you great and awesome things.” Oh, gee, you are so loved by God. He’s holding you in his hand and nobody can pluck you out. You will always win. Just be thankful and praise him during the battle.
We love you and God bless you. Amen.
