One of our Graduates, Joseph, received an open door to give weekly bible studies at a prison near Oniville. Pastor Brian and the students go out there with Joseph to preach to the captives. Our team was allowed in. We brought medical supplies which helped give us us favor with the guards and prison Doctor. They said we could have 10 minutes. We went in groups and preached the gospel to four cells that were made available to us. There was about 80 men in each cell. There is standing room only. They take turns sleeping or sleep standing up. They have one bucket to go to the bathroom with. When the gospel was preached there was a wall of faces peering out, very attentive. No distractions occurred. When the invitation to receive Christ was given you could hear what seemed like every soul in the cell ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. Jesus said in Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me, to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
