He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Happy Resurrection Sunday from your Haiti team!

We were joined by another team of six young adults yesterday, just in time to head over with us to the missionary training property. Kip and Pastor Brian worked on the plumbing to support a new filter for the two tilapia tanks. These tanks will serve as an outreach by supplying fish for the community. Melisa and Beth worked in the banana trees trimming leaves and assisting the men.

Young boys were hired who happily and eagerly put in a day’s work pulling weeds from the garden with the new team.

Two events really touched our hearts this day. One of the missionaries joining us has Cerebral Palsy and shared his love of the Lord and His love to serve the Lord. He told us: “The Lord doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.” That’s how he knows the Lord has equipped him; despite his disability. He has an incredible passion to share the gospel. As he passed out toiletries to a tent city, he told them he had another free gift for them, the gift of salvation. We learned a lot from this young man.

Easter morning started early with the sunrise service on the roof of the training center. Regular church was then done in the amphitheater and was well attended by the community and all the missionaries. We witnessed a beautiful baptism given by one of the training center Pastors.

An afternoon of more repair work for Kip and it was off to enjoy a dinner with the new missionary team. The fun really came when the three of us had to ride an open ATV back to the compound in a torrential rain storm on flooded, thick muddy roads and rocky inclines. People usually get stranded in weather like we experienced, however, we prayed and sang our way back. Melisa and I were ready to give Kip a “Missionary of the Year” award for skillfully and safely getting us home!

Tomorrow we’re leaving at 4:45 for a 6 hour bus ride to northern Haiti to visit Pastor Leo in Cap-Haitian. He was the first pastor to come through Cross to Light’s Haiti Bible Training Center and we will be going to see his church and offer outreach to this very poor region. All for His glory,

Kip, Melisa and Beth
