Emily Iacovetti plays All I am is Yours in “the pit”, Caiaphas House, Jerusalem, Israel.
I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. Jeremiah 31: 13
Today, we stepped into Caiaphas’s house, where Jesus was tortured and thrown in the pit to wait overnight until his crucifixion. Our tears spilled on the ancient stone that witnessed the Creator of the Universe in human form, Jesus Christ, waiting for the death He knew was coming. If there is any human in history who could relate to the horrors of the recent terror attacks, it’s Jesus.
This time, the pit was filled with praise and worship to our God, Who bled and died for us on the cross. Worship music filled the air, perhaps for the first time since Jesus lay bleeding there all night before His death.
We were overwhelmed with His presence as we declared, “I stand, with arms high and heart abandoned. All I am is Yours”.
Perhaps you are feeling like your in the pit. Maybe your heart is heavy with difficulty and sorrow. When this happens, offer up the sacrifice of praise to our God Who saves. He did come through. He died for me and you. He will bring you through your difficulties. He is faithful even when we are not.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
