Revelation 3:8 I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
A miracle has happened. We had been given permission to go into a Juvenile Hall in Port au Prince, Haiti with restrictions. Typically it is very difficult to get into any of the prisons in Haiti. They rarely, if ever, allow visitors.
The prison ward said we needed to bring in supplies for each of the 150 prisoners and that we would only be allowed in three separate times.
Our team of 20 gathered up the supplies for the 150 Juvenile Hall prisoners; a Gospel of John, a toothbrush and a powerbar – one for each. We split up into two teams to deliver the Gospel to two groups of 75 youth prisoners.
Brian McDaniel led one group while Ryan McGinnis of the College group, The Well, at Harvest led the other. They went in and preached the Gospel. Almost all of the prisoners raised their hand to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Their voices rang out the sinners prayer, leading them to eternal freedom. Then the mission teams prayed over them. The angels in heaven rejoiced!
A man dressed in a suit had come in with Brian’s team. He came up to Brian afterwards and introduced himself. He said he was the Commissioner in charge of all of the prisons in Port au Prince. He said he liked what he saw and gave an invitation and open door to all of the prisons in Port au Prince.
The next prison visit is scheduled for the Women’s prison in Port au Prince.
Only Jesus can open doors like this; “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
The Lord may have a door for you He wants to open. You won’t know unless you ask. The door won’t be opened until you walk forward. Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
