Sending the gospel forward
We just got back from Israel.
In this short update, Pastor Brian recounts a trip that almost didn’t happen, a bus that stood alone where crowds normally gather, and a simple, powerful truth: God blesses those who bless Israel. If you’ve ever wondered whether showing up matters, this is your answer.
A Flight That Didn’t Cancel
Getting to Israel right now isn’t easy. Because of the war with Iran, most flights into the country have been canceled. But by the grace of God, our El Al flight held. It didn’t cancel — and our team made it in. “It was amazing,” Pastor Brian says. “We were some of the only people on the ground.”
A Bus That Stood Alone
Some moments you don’t forget. At the Mount of Beatitudes — the hillside where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount — there are usually 20 or 30 tour buses lined up. This time, there was one. Ours.
Standing in a place so often crowded, nearly empty, was humbling and deeply encouraging all at once. It was a reminder that God had opened a door few others could walk through, and that He’d brought our team there for a reason.
Why We Go: “I Will Bless Those Who Bless Israel”
One of the reasons we love traveling to Israel every year is rooted in Scripture. The Bible says God will bless those who bless Israel — and one of the most tangible ways to do that is simply to go.
In a season when so many have stayed away, the people there were deeply blessed that we came. And it’s not only spiritual. Tourism is a lifeline. When we show up — staying in the hotels, walking with the guides, touring the land — we’re helping local families put food on the table.
Blessing Israel, it turns out, can look as ordinary as showing up. And in a moment like this one, showing up meant everything.
