A new church plant is taking root in the Mountains of Port au Prince, Haiti.  Pastor Lisson, a Cross to Light Haiti Bible Training Center graduate, now teaches his small but growing congregation through the bible weekly.  Through mission teams, the bride of Christ has come in and helped put some structure to this new church by helping to build a church structure with a roof for much needed shade.  The Word of God is being taught to this precious village group who, for the most part, have never been taught through the bible.

Pastor Lisson has maintained an important role with the Cross to Light team since he began as a student in 2012. He has faithfully served in many different capacities. Having a heart of evangelism and servant leadership, he has proven to be an example to others of how to get whatever needs to be done complete with a humble heart. He has often been found with mission teams on evangelism outreaches translating, preaching the gospel, or fulfilling any other task required.

Observing this new church plant inspires thoughts of King Josiah. Becoming king of Judah the bible tells us he “did what was right in the sight of the Lord”. For the most part, his track record serving the Lord was good. He implemented some key practices for the people; keeping the Passover, offerings to the Lord, teaching the Word of God and breaking down the alters and worship of false gods. Pastors like Lisson today continue on with this example as they implement Communion; a reminder of how Christ is our Passover, faithfully teach the Word of God and encourage their congregations to remove the worship of false gods from their lives. Let us be like Josiah and “take a stand” for God with our actions, being reminded of what Christ has done for us and consistantly taking in the transforming Word of God.

2 Chronicles 33:16-19
So all the service of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the Lord, according to the command of King Josiah. Josiah kept the passover.

2 Chronicles 34:30-32
He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of the Lord. Then the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book. And he made all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin take a stand.
