Some people wonder and ask if God performs miracles in our current day and age. From the Cross to Light teams perspective the answer is a resounding “Yes!”.
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
A classic bible example of this is the first miracle Jesus performed in the New Testament recorded in John 2 when He turned water into wine. A key to this story is that the servants were the ones who witnessed the miracle and knew that something out of this world had happened. The guests and host did not know. The servants who were tending to Jesus saw the water transformed miraculously into wine. If you want to see miracles in your life happen, you need to listen to what Jesus tells you to do and then go do it quickly. You are almost guaranteed to see something amazing and out of the ordinary happen in serving the King.
One modern day story of proof comes from a mission team that was on their way up a steep narrow road to conduct a conference at a Cross to Light church in the mountains of Haiti when they saw a bus full of people speeding out of control toward them. Just before colliding with them the bus veered off the road and caused a house to explode cement blocks all around. Dust covered the team with no injury. Many people below were saved. God’s mighty hand had moved the bus headed for massive death and collision to be diverted. No serious injuries or deaths occurred.
Pastor Rajive of the Bible Training Center further recounts what happened;
A bus lost it’s brakes and was coming down a mountain toward a crowded market village area. We witnessed God spare our team and many village people.
We were on our way up the mountain to go to Lisson’s church to conduct a conference. We stopped to get some drinks at a steep point and then about a minute after we started driving up again we see this big bus full of people coming down the mountain at about 70 miles an hour – completely out of control. It looked like the bus had lost it’s brakes.
It’s coming down and all of sudden I see this bus hitting the side of homes with debris flying in the air, cement blocks, flying all over the place. The bus hits something that flips it so it’s sliding down the mountain sideways. The bus slid down and smashed into a mini SUV Mercedes. Now both the bus and the SUV are coming directly toward me.
I was standing there with Michelle and Pastor Tristan’s son along with Luccone and Watson in the back.
It all was happening so fast and I just closed my eyes. Then I heard a loud crash as it hit our UTV. Then Pastor Tristan hit me from behind. I realized immediately that the Lord had put him behind me because when I opened my eyes I was covered in dust, bricks and cement blocks all around me, but not a scratch on any one of us.
I don’t think any of us should be alive right now. Only the back bumper on our UTV was bent a little bit and we have already straightened it out.
If Pastor Tristan wasn’t behind me, the impact of the two vehicles colliding would have put me into a spin and would have thrown off everyone who was standing in the back and the vehicle and myself probably would have been destroyed. Instead, everything fell perfectly with no serious injuries to anyone in the bus, the houses or the vehicles.
If the car and our UTV wouldn’t have stopped the bus from its course sliding down the mountain it would have killed a lot of people. There was an intersection below us with hundreds of people walking around unaware of the massive destruction headed toward them. There would have been dead bodies all over.
Miracles constantly unfold when people are sharing the gospel, teaching the bible and ministering to people.
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27).
