Emergency Relief Haiti – Gods Protection
“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:14
“When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp…” Judges 7:21
Cross to Light recently had a 40′ container released from port. It took a massive effort. Gangs have had a strong presence at the port.
The container was loaded with almost 50,000 pounds of emergency relief food. The food is brought to our campus and distributed to the 11 church plants and their communities throughout Haiti.
We had been working diligently every day to have the container released. One hurdle after another rose.
Finally, after no small effort, the container was cleared to leave the port. The trucker was ready to leave. Right then, heavy gang activity was going on outside the port gate. It seemed like two gangs were fighting each other. These bandits try to hijack containers as they leave the port. The trucker was waiting until it quieted.
Suddenly, the gunfire level rose significantly and stopped. All went quiet. The trucker took the opportunity and moved the container out onto the road. The path was clear, and he made it to the campus safely.
We discovered later that a single tank had come into the area and cleared the gangs. This is highly unusual. Typically in a military operation, there is never just a single tank that goes out like that. And it just happened to be the perfect time to clear the path for the emergency food container.
We know it wasn’t a coincidence. Thank you for praying. God heard, and He cleared the way once again.
