Food for Haiti

Is this not the fast that I have chosen?…to share your bread with the hungry?…if you extend your soul to the hungry…the Lord will satisfy your soul…and strengthen your bones.” Isaiah 58:6-12 (see full text below)

Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” John 6:35

Our core purpose in the United States and abroad is to “send the gospel forward.” This is accomplished through evangelism, discipleship, and planting bible teaching churches. In being faithful to this purpose, God allows blessings, such as sharing bread with poor and starving people in need, to flow out of it.

We’ve been so blessed to be used by God to help plant eleven churches in Haiti. Each one teaches through the bible each week. In addition, God has blessed us with the ability to provide emergency relief, including bread.

Our emergency relief distribution system imports and delivers directly to the church plants in Haiti’s various provinces. So far, we’ve built large commercial-sized bread ovens for four of the churches. The ovens are used to help feed the people that come to church and the people in need in the local community. The pastors, their family, their church team, people that attend, and neighbors alike are so thankful to be given bread.

Bread is very scarce in Haiti. The majority of the people have no ability to get it. Their diet mainly consists of beans and rice. Bread is a necessity that helps to sustain them. To be able to provide this to them for free is a huge blessing that we are so thankful for.

Thank you for your prayers and support! Your participation directly helps provide delicious food to people who otherwise could not receive it. Children in these communities often go days without food. The churches are so happy to be able to share this blessing from heaven. It truly is like manna in the desert for God’s beloved.

Isaiah 58:6-12

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’

“If you take away the yoke from your midst,
The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
