Jonas Artibonite

Jonas has been the pastor of the bible teaching church in Artibonite, Haiti since his graduation from the Cross to Light Haiti Bible Training Center in 2012. Artibonite is situated North of Port au Prince and has an overall population of over 1.7 million. The specific area that Jonas is situated in, Petit riviere de l’artibonite, has been historically rooted in voodoo and his church is the only one that teaches through the bible in that province.

Jonas prayed fervently about where God wanted him to start a church after he completed his pastoral training. God told him to go back to his home town. He was faithful and started a home group. He now has a solid leadership team who minister to children and adults every week with bible studies.

During the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, pastor Jonas was one of the first volunteers to come out with teams to help. He is always happy to lend a hand. He is an excellent servant Shepherd example to us all.

HBTC: Day 4

Working out airport relationships with the best airline in Haiti, Sunrise Airlines, for our support team trips to the Cap-Haitian church plant that Leo is Pastoring. Sunrise Airlines is the best Port au Prince to Cap-Hatien airline in Port au Prince.

Team Help in the Morning

We have a "kitchen ministry" that includes the opportunity to clean and/or cook.  Ladies that have a heart for hospitality and cooking can select a favorite recipe, bring the ingredients (enough to feed their team + 20) and make it as a special treat.  If it is a food recipe that the cooks at the BTC can make again with local ingredients then you can have a teaching session where you teach them how to make it.  

Haiti Bible Training Center Day 4: Team Help in the Morning

The first half of the day is dedicated to the Pastors teaching the students through the bible. Often times a Pastor will bring a mission team in.  Or a mission team will be there at the same time as a teaching Pastor.  We have plenty for the mission teams to do while the teaching is going on. There is help with the Haiti Bible Training Center grounds that include tending the garden, helping in the kitchen with cleaning and cooking [...]
