Petite Riviere de l’artibonite, Haiti

Pastor Jonas Bievenue

Jonas Artibonite

Jonas has been the pastor of the bible teaching church in Artibonite, Haiti since his graduation from the Cross to Light Haiti Bible Training Center in 2012. Artibonite is situated North of Port au Prince and has an overall population of over 1.7 million. The specific area that Jonas is situated in, Petit riviere de l’artibonite, has been historically rooted in voodoo and his church is the only one that teaches through the bible in that province.

Jonas prayed fervently about where God wanted him to start a church after he completed his pastoral training. God told him to go back to his home town. He was faithful and started a home group. He now has a solid leadership team who minister to children and adults every week with bible studies.

During the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, pastor Jonas was one of the first volunteers to come out with teams to help. He is always happy to lend a hand. He is an excellent servant Shepherd example to us all.

Revived Heart

Haiti-Where God revived my heart! My prayer before I went to Haiti was that God would remind me of how exciting He is. Not only did God answer my prayer but He revived my heart. My faith was increased after hearing many testimonies of the things God has done in and through the lives of the people at the Bible Training Center. I also found pure beauty in the children there. God is amazing. Now, that I'm home I pray [...]

Haiti Bible Training Center: Day 5

The Bible Training Center is set up on a hill that has an ocean view and gets the ocean breeze.  The roof is one of my favorite places to go early in the morning for personal devo and prayer time.  It was beautiful this morning!  The weather is amazing.  It feels cool with the exeception of the middle of the day but even that is not too hot.  Thank You Lord!

Coconut Love

On the way to the airport we stopped at one of the street vendors to pick up some Haitian fast food: fresh coconuts!  The merchant cuts a hole at the top so you can drink the fresh coconut juice and then cuts it open so you can scoop out the soft middle.  The hard white part is also good to chew on.  We bought a round for us and one for a Mom and son was walking by.
