God bless you it’s pastor Brian McDaniel from the Haiti, Bible Training Center.
I just want to share some scriptures with you from 2 Chronicles 14 about king Asa. He was an amazing example of somebody who trusted in the Lord. Let me read in 2 Chronicles 14, it says, Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God, for he removed the altars of the foreign gods and the high places, and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the wooden images and he commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandment. He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and the kingdom was quiet under him.
So listen, the first thing we see with this King that he did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord. He prepared his heart. It says that Ezra prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord and to do it. Regardless of what you’re going through right now, or what you’ve maybe come out of it’s always important for us to sanctify ourselves because the Bible says Tomorrow, the Lord is going to do great things. We see as king Asa is building himself up, he’s taking care of his spiritual life by removing the images in the high places.
The idols that were set up were in Israel. It’s the same for us now. The thing is, as we remove those things in our life that are distracting us it’s automatically going to make us start to seek the Lord because those things have worked their way in your life to distract you from seeking the Lord.
If there’s something in your life, whatever it might be, that you’re spending too much time with that may be an idol, then what you want to do is start to remove those things. Just like king Asa encouraged Judah to seek the Lord.
Now the Lord says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.
So we see the first thing king Asa does is he’s getting his life right to Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and the Bible says if we do that, then all these other things will come into place.
Then what happened next was all of a sudden he gets a report that there’s an army coming up against Judah and it’s not just some little army it’s the Ethiopians. The Bible says that it was a million-man army. Oh man, I don’t know what you’re facing, or what kind of trial you’re going through but listen. If a million people were coming against you, you would be in a major trial.
I love it, because we read that king Asa was already ready for this. Because he’s prepared what he does is so amazing. The bible says “Asa went out against him, and they set the troops in battle array in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah” and Asa cried out to the Lord his God and said Lord, it is nothing for you to help whether with many or with few.
He says, “We have no power but help us O Lord God, we rest on you and in your name, we go out against this multitude. Oh Lord, you or our God, do not let man prevail against us.”
Oh man, listen, what a prayer, the Bible says, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, then God will hear from heaven, and heal our land, and that’s exactly what he did. He says We have no power, but you are our God, You are God do not let man prevail against us. What a prayer of humility. The Bible says that the Lord came to that million man army and in one verse, it said The Lord struck the million man army.
There was no way with Little Judah that they were even going stand a chance to fight against this great multitude. If you’re facing battles right now in your life that you have no idea how to have victory over with your strength and your resources you can bring about a victory. This is what to do. Just like Asa went into the temple and prayed, our eyes are upon you, Lord, help us help us, we need Your help, you’re our God.
Listen, the bible says, He’ll never leave you nor forsake. It says nothing can separate you from the love of God and Christ Jesus. He said I’m holding you in my hand and no one will be able to pluck you out. Hey listen, the Bible says that “All things work together for good, and when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Bible says The Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard and what the enemy means for evil God will turn it for good.
So what do you do? You trust in the Lord, you call upon Him in your day of trouble, and He says I will answer you and show you great and awesome things.
Hey, the victory belongs to the Lord right? And the battle belongs to the Lord and all glory, belongs to the Lord, so call upon the Lord and see what he will do.
