Haiti Food Crisis – Praise Report

I want to give you an update and a praise report. Psalms 105 says, “We will declare the mighty works of God.” Psalms 107 says, “Talk about all of His wonderful works, amen.”

We got a praise report coming out of Haiti. Many of you have been following what’s been happening there. Ever since the President of Haiti was assassinated, gangs have taken over 90% of the Capital.

The last area of the Capitol that the gangs have not taken is the area around the Bible Training Center and a little north. It’s a miracle.

Most of the organizations, because of the gang activity, have pulled out of the Capitol, and the gangs have taken over the port. They’ve taken over the airport. The airport’s been closed for about eight months now. The gangs took it over. They shot at commercial airlines.

What that means is all the organizations that were working in Port-au-Prince have either fled to the North or left Haiti altogether. It’s stopped the shipping from going into Haiti. That’s where the people of Haiti receive most of their supplies.

An organization asked me if I believed that we could get a container into Port-au-Prince. I said, Listen, we can’t get it in, but I know who can. When Nebuchadnezzar had that dream, they went and got Daniel, and they said, Daniel, can you interpret the dream? And he says, No, I can’t interpret it, but I know someone, the God of heaven, can give us the interpretation. That’s why I told him, No, we can’t. It’s impossible to bring a container into Port-au-Prince. But I know somebody who can. He said, I like that. Let’s take a step of faith and see if we can get a container in.

We did it by faith. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. We packed up a 40-foot container in Miami, filled with food and Bibles. Someone donated one hundred thousand Bibles from Ohio. The food company, which operates trucks nationwide, said, “We can send a truck to Ohio to get those Bibles.”

This was a huge step of faith for us, as it was very risky to lose that entire shipment of food and Bibles. It’s very expensive. Last week, the container arrived in Haiti, and by the grace of God, we were diligent to retrieve it from the port. This area is 100% controlled by gangs. Gangs control the port. About three days ago, we sent a truck down to try to get it out. Gunfire erupted at the port, and everything was on hold. But God did a miracle. He parted the Red Sea. The gunfire stopped. The truck was able to go in, pick up the food and Bibles, and deliver them to Cross to Light.

The Bible says, Blessed are you who consider the poor. The Lord will deliver you in time of trouble. The Bible says that when Jesus started his ministry, the Spirit of the Lord was upon me. He’s anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. And so now, as we speak, we’re starting feeding programs.

The prisoners in Port-au-Prince are starving, so we’re doing a feeding program in the prison.

We’re breaking bread in City Soleil and all the cross to light churches. Churches are now sending trucks to collect food, transport it back, and distribute food and Bibles to the people.

We wanted to give you guys a praise report. It’s a total miracle. Thank you so much. Many of you have helped. Many of you have been praying and texting me. The food is there, it’s being distributed with the Bibles and the Gospel. We give the Lord all the glory. Thank you. Go to crosstolight.com and sign up for the updates. We’ll send you updates so you can join us in prayer. We love you. Thank you so much. Praise the Lord. Amen.
