God bless you, this is Pastor Brian from the Haiti Bible Training Center and I just want to encourage you.
The Bible says that The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.
It says, even though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea that there is a river, who’s streams shall make glad the city of God. In Ezekiel 47, it talks about that river, the river of life, and wherever that river goes, it brings life. Jesus said, “whoever drinks this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks the water that I give torrents of living water will spring forward from their inner most being.”
Hey, you know that right now more than ever we need that river of life and we need God to pour out His Spirit on all-flash for a great harvest. People have been asking us, “What are they doing in Haiti? Has this pandemic hit? In Haiti, about three or four days ago, the call for a nation-wide shut down happened. So we’re like, “Oh no, what do we do? Why? Because forget ventilators and most of the hospitals they don’t even have power.
They don’t have masks or hand sanitizer. They don’t have anything. The only thing that they have is the Lord.
So one of the things we’re doing is what the Lord showed us to do over a year ago. We’ve been installing bread ovens at our churches.
So people ask what do bread ovens have to do with getting healed or fighting an illness?
Well, everything because the Bible says in Psalms 41, “Blessed is He who considers the poor, the Lord will sustain you on your bed of illness, He will preserve you, and keep you alive.”
So we put these bread ovens at these churches, and by the grace of God last week, we got one of the last containers of wheat into the country to supply the bread. In Isaiah 58 it says, “Is this not the fast that I have chosen to undo the heavy burdens and to let the oppress go free, is it not to give your bread to the hungry? And then he says Then your healing will go spring forth speedily.
I mean, if you get sick, you want to be sustained on your bed of illness and you want to be preserved and kept alive. Well, that’s what God says, “Blessed is he who considers the poor, it will preserve you, on your bed of illness and He will sustain you on your bed of illness you will be preserved and you will be kept alive.
We’ve told the pastors at the church locations to start making bread and give it out to the poorest people in their local community.
Why? Because as we’re giving out bread we’re also giving them the bread of life. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.”
Listen, the most important thing that we can do as we’re considering the poor is to consider the state of their soul eternally. We need to ask them if they’re sure their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
We ask, are you a Christian?
Yeah, well you gotta go a little deeper than that. Ask, if you died today and God said, “Why should I let you into Heaven?
What is your answer?
If you want into heaven, the answer has to be, because Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes to the Father apart from him. The bible says, “Great is the mystery of godliness, God was manifested in the flesh. Jesus is God. Unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and his name is wonderful counselor, mighty God.”
You gotta make sure they’re putting their faith in Jesus. Then you have to make sure they know that their name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
This is the most important thing because in Revelation 20, it says that each person’s name not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life was cast into the lake burning with fire.
Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
So when we’re helping the poor Jesus said to preach the gospel to the poor too. He said, “The spirit of the Lord is upon me to preach the gospel to the poor.” Then also, you want to feed the poor because it says in Isaiah 58 verse 10, “when you see the hungry, feed them.” And you ultimately want to feed them the Word of God.
Isaiah 58 says, “If you extend your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul then your light shall shine in the darkness and your darkness shall be as the noon-day. The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought and strengthen your bones.”
There’s so many promises about helping the poor – I love it. The bible says they asked, “when did we see you and feed you?” He answers and says, “when you’ve done it to the least of these, my brethren, you’ve done it to me.”
It’s the most amazing thing right now. They’re lining up the kids at the churches and giving them their muffins. Some of the places they say that’s the only food that they’re eating all day long. The Bible says that if we consider the poor in that way, that He will sustain us on our bed of illness, He will preserve us, and keep us alive. So continue to make sure that you’re helping the poor.
Even when I’m in the States sometimes I’ll see a homeless guy and I start getting some money together and giving and people ask, “What are you doing? I tell them, I’m considering the poor.
When we do this there are so many promises that God has for us, It says that the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard he will not deliver you to the will of your enemies. You’ll call on him, and He’ll answer you speedily and give you healing.
So listen, do something, find someone who’s poorer then you and help them out and consider them and make sure that you’re preaching the Gospel.
The Bible says, the disciples did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus, and great grace was upon them. “With great power, they gave witness though the resurrection.”
We need that grace right now. Paul said I labored more abundantly, but the grace of God was towards me. So preach the gospel, consider the poor and trust in the Lord. I just read through the first 25 chapters of Psalms and it says over and over again, “Trust in the Lord, Trust in the Lord, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
