The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” Ezekiel 37

Do you have a lost cause?

Do you think you’re a lost cause?

Almost everyone who has lived very long has something in their life that they have filed away as a lost cause. Something that we have attempted to fix, restore or breathe life into, but to no avail. And so it has been swept under the rug as lost and we try to forget about it. But it’s still there, secretly lurking in the dark. Something or someone who needs to be repaired. A situation that was never resolved right but instead left to fester. In Ezekiel 37 it says that “all hope is gone.” In Ezekiel’s vision, the situation appeared hopeless.

What’s interesting is that the bible says the Spirit of the Living God brought the prophet Ezekiel straight to the dry bones. He didn’t bring him to green pastures or a beach resort. Instead He brought him directly to the ugly problem. And Ezekiel had the perfect answer for the question he was given, “can these bones live?”. “O Lord God, You know.”

Only God knows how to breath life into dry bones.

Only the Spirit of God can give you a Word for how to breath life into the dry bones hiding in your closet. The Spirit of God wants to lead you to the valley, the place of difficulty in your life or in your past, in order to show you how He can fix it, how He can breath life into something you thought was dead. He is able and willing if you are open to receiving His way of resolving a problem that can be fixed.

Be challenged.

Tell Him in faith, “O Lord God, You know.” and expect an answer for how He wants to breath life into your life. Ezekiel 37 says, “When this happens, you will know that I am the Lord.” And so will those around you when they see God come through in His way and in His timing as you obey Him in faith and commit your lost cause into His hands.
